We have released Business Directory for WordPress v0.6 Beta.
This new version has the following updates and fixes:
- ‘Rookie Mistake‘ Fixed: We updated the file structure so that when the plugin is installed for the first time it does not require a folder rename. This fix will simplify the installation and updating process. See how to upgrade to v0.6 Beta.
- Admin Manager Updated: We have added a ‘Company Website’ column to the manager so that you can quickly view the sites that have been submitted to your directory.
- Change in Label Terminology: We have altered the Join Form to use the word ‘Organization’ instead of ‘Company’. We feel this terminology will appeal to a larger audience. In the future we hope to add the ability for you to specify your own field labels on the Join Form.
- Small Join Form Bug Fix: We found that the Join Form didn’t properly save the Country field upon submission. We have fixed this bug.

Thanks a lot! I think this works on my site very well. I will try it now.
I have tested on my website. From the admin panel, for the pending list, I clicked to review it, then I have chosen save and submit, then the list not submitted. I tried again, then the list is submitted but didn’t change as I have edited on preview before hitting the save and submit button. Working fine with Save first then later submit (approve).
I’m testing this and it looks great and a great idea, although I have a problem with it. It’s not allowing me or anyone else to “Submit” a listing. Not sure why and I’ve looked over the documentation. Wonder if anyone else is having this problem? Check it out on my site.

I think I have the solution for your problem; it appears you have loaded your Directory and the Join Form on the same page. Currently, these features cannot be on the same page. Separate them out and I think you will have it working.
Looks good! Be sure to add your site to our directory as soon as you get it working.
Overall, this plug is nice and clean. Best for Blog sites. As informed, expecting for sponsored listing with highlighted and showing on top. If include paypal payment gateway would be great. One thing not very convenient is when someone add in the list, admin is not informed. So I need to check from admin panel time to time. It would be also nice if someone add in the list then email notification sent to Admin email address.

Currently there is not a way to display the total number of business listings in your directory on the public side of your site, however, the total number of approved listings is visible in the admin menu right next to the heading: “Approved Listings”. This is something that we can consider for future versions of the plugin, but for right now you could manually put the number of approved listings on the page above or below the shortcode.
